Job description

Are you a qualified mental health professional looking for a rewarding role that combines clinical acumen with operational support? Join our client as an APS6 Intake Allocator and play a key role in connecting clients to vital mental health services.

As an APS6 Intake Allocator, you will:
  • Manage the regional intake and referral queue, ensuring timely and appropriate allocation of clients to clinicians.
  • Conduct intake assessments for couples and family counselling, including Family and Domestic Violence (FDV) screening.
  • Liaise with clients, clinicians, and internal teams to ensure the delivery of trauma-informed, client-centred support.
  • Maintain a small clinical caseload and support internal referrals.
  • Contribute to quality improvement, program evaluation, and clinical policy development.
You will report to the Assistant Director and work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals.
 
We are looking for someone who:
  • Brings a warm, empathic and professional therapeutic approach.
  • Demonstrates sound clinical judgement, attention to detail and effective time management.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and can confidently prioritise tasks.
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong understanding of trauma informed care.
  • Is comfortable using IT systems and clinical documentation tools.
  • Has experience in assessing and managing risk, particularly in family and domestic violence contexts.
Mandatory Requirements:
  • Working with Vulnerable People registration or the ability to obtain it, OR Working with Children check or the ability to obtain it.
  • Registration as a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, or Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Membership of the AASW as a Social Worker
  • A Masters level of Counselling qualification and registration with PACFA (Clinical) or ACA Level 3 or 4
 
What is on offer:
  • $65 p/h + super
  • Ongoing training and development
  • 12 month contract + possible extensions
