Job description

The Role
On behalf of a large Federal Government Agency we are looking for an APS6 Service Designer to join the Design and Improvement team. This is a 12 month assignment and can be based in Geelong or Richmond. The role will be a hybrid arrangement with a minimum 3 days per week in the office.

Responsibilities
  • Creating and documenting a baseline understanding of the current state of the service, identifying, and assessing current business processes and researching staff and participant experience
  • Creating and facilitating process design improvements by conducting business and systems process analysis and producing required analysis documentation
  • Facilitating design-thinking sessions with service users to design and test the future service (processes, channels and experiences)
  • Ensuring that the end-to-end service experience addresses participant and staff needs, meets the Digital Service Standard and is consistent for all users across different touchpoints
  • Assisting the product owner with the use of system tools
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of proposed solutions and design at conceptual and tactical levels
  • Contributing to developing blueprints and design of the proposed service and guiding build teams
Essential Criteria
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and documenting a baseline understanding of the current state of the service, identifying, and assessing current business processes and researching staff and participant experience.
  • Experience in creating and facilitating process design improvements by conducting business and systems process analysis and producing required analysis documentation.
  • Experience in facilitating design-thinking sessions with service users to design and test the future service (processes, channels and experiences).
  • Understanding of evaluating the effectiveness of proposed solutions and design at conceptual and tactical levels.

Desirable criteria
  • Salesforce experience
  • Preferable prior knowledge and experience in disability and public sector
