Our State Government client is seeking two experienced Estimators to join their Cairns-based team. These roles offer the opportunity to contribute to meaningful public sector projects while working within a collaborative and professional environment.
Position Overview
The Estimator plays a critical role in the preparation and development of accurate cost estimates, tender submissions, and project specifications to support successful project delivery.
You will analyse project requirements, interpret technical documentation, and work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure all tender submissions are competitive, compliant, and aligned with organisational objectives.
Key responsibilities include identifying cost efficiencies, assessing and mitigating risks, and ensuring estimates meet industry standards and client expectations.

- Relevant qualifications or trade experience in cost estimation, tender development, or construction
- Proficiency in estimation software and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Proven ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, organisation, and time management skills
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety and knowledge of industry regulations
- A current valid driver’s licence
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience in tender preparation
- Knowledge of procurement and government processes
