Job description

Our client, a local government department is seeking an experienced Communications and Engagement Officer to work within their busy City Planning and Economic Development team, where you will play an integral part and be fully responsible for delivering a range of communication projects. 

In this role you will develop, implement and evaluate community engagement and communication activities that support Program outcomes; will be responsible for managing projects through to completion, including stakeholder management and meeting multiple deadlines. 

Responsibilities of the role: 
  • Developing and implementing communication and engagement strategies     
  • Drafting print and electronic collateral, web and social media content       
  • Managing design and print production       
  • Editing large documents and proofreading 
To be successful in this role you will have:  
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing successful communication and engagement strategies 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and effective stakeholder management skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple communication projects and meet deadlines 
  • Competent in MSOffice suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
  • Highly desirable: Experience in any of the following: Vision 6 (creating EDMs), Eventbrite, StoryMaps, Planner, Sharepoint, Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience working in a government environment (preferred)
