Job description

Our State Government client is seeking to engage an experienced Events and Programs Officer to join their team for a 3 month period.

As the Events and Programs Officer, you will design, plan and execute engaging events and awards, sponsorship and community engagement programs. You will coordinate multiple high-level events and programs, creating experiences that communicate priority government policies. The successful candidate will understand the lifecycle of events and programs, thrive in dynamic settings and bring creativity and passion to everything you deliver.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
  • Coordinate a complex portfolio of events, awards, sponsorship and community engagement programs from conception to evaluation.
  • Develop project plans, communication materials, sponsorship agreements, project timelines, briefing notes and correspondence.
  • Deliver events, awards, sponsorship and community engagement programs in accordance with current policies and procedures.
  • Develop partnerships and manage productive relationships with key program stakeholders through effective liaison, consultation and regular communication.
  • Manage contractors and suppliers, and event management systems and/or databases with a high degree of accuracy.
The successful application will demonstrate:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in event management, public relations,  communications and/ or similar field (desirable). 
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering high quality events, awards and or community programs.
  • Experience working across multiple projects and managing multiple relationships.
  • A self-starter that also works collaboratively as part of the broader team.
