ASP 6 Policy and Legislation Officer

About the role
You will work in the VET Legislation and Policy team which is responsible for the legislative and policy framework that is required to deliver the Unique Student Identifier (USI) Initiative and assist with the National Skills Passport.
 
Duties
  • Undertake research, analysis and provide advice on business requirements, policy, and legislation.
  • Consideration of policy implications for the project, including consideration of relevant existing VET sector infrastructure and the education and training environment.
  • Assist in the development of a range of policy documents, including consultation papers, facts sheets, meeting papers, briefs and talking points.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and represent the work area in relation to policy and legislative development.
Desired experience    
  • Tertiary qualifications in a field relevant to public policy and/or law would be desirable but not essential.
Skills and Capabilities
  • Analytical skills to interpret information and apply it to policy design and program implementation.
  • Developing and maintaining internal and external relationships.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound judgement, analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
