Job description

  • Federal Government opportunity in Surry Hills
  • 12-month contract with the possibility of extension
  • $43.82 per hour + super
Out Federal Government Client is currently seeking an APS4 Business Support Officer to join their Surry Hills team with their Operations/HR/finance projects and tasks.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Manage mailboxes and action various enquiries such as operations enquiries and administrative enquiries from staff members, recruitment agencies, other branches, and other stakeholders
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage business support functions and operating procedures, including the onboarding of new starters and offboarding of staff who are leaving the Agency
  • Assist with monthly financial accruals
  • Manage the payment of invoices
  • Work on operations/HR projects and tasks, and liaise with relevant stakeholders as needed
  • Other duties and projects where directed
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
  • Competent in Microsoft Suite eg. Excel and Word
  • Experience in fast-paced administration roles, with the ability to and prioritise competing and often urgent requests in a calm and efficient manner while also maintaining high work standards and accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in financial administration, invoice and purchase orders is highly regarded
  • Experience onboarding new staff members is highly regarded
  • It is highly desirable that applicants have an understanding of or lived experience in the field of disability.
