APS5 Quality Officer 
We’re recruiting APS5 Quality Officers for a large federal government agency delivering one of Australia’s most important social reform programs.
This role sits within a high-impact quality and performance function, reviewing frontline decision-making and driving continuous improvement across complex, legislated environments. You’ll work with real data, real decisions, and outcomes that genuinely matter to participants.

What you’ll do
  • Conduct moderately complex to complex quality and assurance reviews
  • Assess legislative, policy and process compliance in planning and decision-making
  • Produce clear, evidence-based written findings and recommendations
  • Identify risks, trends and improvement opportunities
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and mentor team members
  • Manage workflow and review requests using established systems (including JIRA)
What we’re looking for
  • Experience in quality assurance, audits or file reviews (NDIS or government highly regarded)
  • Strong understanding of legislation, policy and decision-making frameworks
  • Confident analytical skills with the ability to draw well-reasoned conclusions
  • Clear, concise written communication (you can translate complexity into plain English)
  • Comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative team
  • Experience with government systems (PACE, CRM or similar) or ability to learn quickly
Desirable
  • Planning and Reasonable & Necessary decision-making experience
  • Audit or quality framework knowledge
  • Background in social services, disability, government or quality assurance
