About the Organisation
Our client is an Australian Government statutory agency whose role is to work in a collaborative manner with all Australian governments and blood sector stakeholders to ensure Australia's blood supply is safe, secure, adequate and affordable.

Job Context

You will be part of the People and Communications team responsible for the management of Human Resources (HR) functions and accountable for the delivery of associated activities across the Agency.
We are looking for a HR all-rounder who is committed to providing excellence in HR service to the National Blood Authority and assisting in building a high-performance organisation with an agile and responsive workforce.

As a Senior HR Adviser, you will undertake work that is complex and operate under broad direction. Your highly developed organisational skills, ability to prioritise and excellent attention to detail will ensure you can operate in our ever-changing environment. You will have a demonstrated record of sound judgement, a high degree of initiative and discretion in dealing with confidential and sensitive matters. You will have supervisory responsibilities as part of this role.
This vacancy is a 18-month non-ongoing opportunity and we will consider at-level transfers or applicants seeking higher duties.

Primary Job Purpose
With an understanding of the dynamics of HR issues, the duties and responsibilities of this position will require you to:
  1. Undertake a broad range of HR functions including recruitment and onboarding, learning and development, payroll and remuneration, HR analytics and HR systems
  2. Provide staffing and personnel administration services in support of the Agency’s HR policies and programs
  3. Provide consistently sound advice on complex and sensitive HR issues
  4. Contribute to the development and implementation of HR programs and projects
  5. Contribute to the development and implementation of best practice HR policies and services to maximise organisational effectiveness
  6. Prepare papers, briefs, presentations and correspondence
  7. Partner and build effective relationships and negotiate outcomes with internal and external stakeholders
  8. Contribute to the organisational strategy and culture and
  9. Work in a collaborative manner as a member of a team and across the Agency.
Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in Human Resource Management in the Australian Public Service (essential)
  • Ideally you have experience in managing recruitment processes or delivering L&D strategies 
  • Applicants from other HR areas such as WR/ER will also be considered
  • You will have strong people management and communications skills
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens and have the ability to obtain and maintain Baseline clearance
