Job description

Join the team at a Federal Government agency that works to deliver nationally consistent, responsive and effective regulation of service providers associated with Disability. These Perth based opportunities are initially 18 months (potential for 12 month extension option), with an estimated end of Feb start date. Job Specifics:
  • Perth CBD location
  • APS6 Rate = $60.26 per to $63.00 hour plus super (Negotiable for the right candidate) 
  • 37.5 Hour per week, Monday to Friday, typically 9am to 5pm - some flexibility may be offered. 
  • Hybrid WFH:  50/50 Fortnightly – 3 days in the office one week, 2 days the next
  • 18 Month initial opportunity with 12 month extension option 
The Organisation
This Government body works with people with disability, providers, and the community to deliver nationally consistent, responsive, and effective regulation of service providers. The Role
The Senior Project Officer will be part of a dedicated team that will contribute to proactive and reactive regulatory activity to promote regulatory compliance in accordance with the certain Acts, Rules and other relevant legislation. Duties will include but not be limited to;
  • Conduct research and analysis, including local regulatory intelligence, to contribute to insights, organisational knowledge and solving of systemic regulatory challenges to promote quality and safeguards for participants. 
  • Support the design and implementation of regulatory campaigns to inform, educate and influence providers, workers and participants. 
  • Utilise planning methodologies to implement and report against multiple compliance campaigns and projects 
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as and actively participate in team work and group activities. 
  • Undertake regulatory compliance actions in response to identified non-compliance and new, existing and emerging risks. 
  • Prepare high quality project reports, briefing papers and executive correspondence for presentation to senior staff. 
About You
Our ideal candidate will have a positive contemporary attitude to people with disability, ideal candidates will have experience in a similar role, or the ability to demonstrate that they possess:
  • A strong aligned working history 
  • Sound experience in a similar role, preparing complex and/or sensitive correspondence and corporate documentation 
  • Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to work within a team environment where expertise can be developed and appropriately shared 
Applicants must:
  • Hold Australian citizenship at time of application.
  • Be willing to undergo an Australian Federal Police check.
  • Be willing and eligible to obtain a security clearance to the level applicable to the position.
Any gaps or periods of time spent overseas for 12 or more months (cumulative) that cannot be verified by an Australian referee is deemed uncheckable, rendering the applicant ineligible for a security clearance.
