We're recruiting for an APS6 Strategic Communications Officer on behalf of a Federal Government Agency.
 
In the Internal Communications Branch, the Communications Officer will provide strategic advice and support to stakeholders for internal and external communications and engagement activities.
 
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Advocating for plain English and ensuring all collateral aligns with agency style and branding guidelines.
  • Serving as a trusted communications expert, assisting key internal stakeholders and business partners in achieving project objectives.
  • Crafting clear, concise messaging for various audiences, including talking points and speeches.
  • Contributing to communications plans, securing approvals, and coordinating collateral releases.
  • Evaluating communication impact, identifying learnings, and assessing project objectives achievement.
  • Assisting team members with administrative, technical, and procedural tasks.
 
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
  • Clear communication skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve and resolve issues independently.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and autonomously.
  • Adaptability and strong organizational skills.
  • Experience in strategic communication planning and stakeholder management.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Project management skills preferred but not essential.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, critical thinking, and collaboration skills.
