Job description

Access Mercantile, a leader in debt and recovery services, is currently seeking an experienced Collections Specialist to join their customer service team in Melbourne CBD. As the company experiences growth, they are looking for candidates who can demonstrate a strong customer service focus, confidence, proactivity, and professionalism when communicating with customers facing financial hardships or changes in circumstances.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Manage calls effectively, utilizing communication, empathy, and negotiation skills.
  • Assist in resolving disputes, claims, and payments.
  • Maintain precise records of customer interactions and investigations.
  • Work towards achieving business Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Previous experience in debt recovery.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build trust and rapport quickly with customers.
  • Experience in taking payments and negotiating payment schedules.
  • Ability to handle difficult conversations while maintaining professionalism.
  • High level of attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
  • Demonstrated resilience in challenging situations.

Commencing immediately this is a full-time permanent position with hours of work rostered Monday to Friday, with flexibility to work from home.
