The Position
Are you a communications expert ready to elevate Wellington Shire Council’s communications, media, and engagement portfolio? The Council is seeking someone just like you to join the team as a Communications Advisor – Projects.

Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
  • Collaborate with our Communications and Media team to create impactful, high-quality communications
  • Produce accurate written and visual content, including media releases, social media posts, newsletters, and website updates
  • Support and manage key projects that align with the council’s strategic priorities and goals
  • Stay informed about new trends and technologies to enhance our communication both internally and externally
  • Assist the organisation in transitioning to more efficient and effective communication practice
About You:
  • Assist the organisation in transitioning to more efficient and effective communication practice
  • Hold a degree in communications, media, journalism, or public relations, or have demonstrated experience in a communications role or project management
  • Possess some knowledge of the workings of different government levels
  • Competent in various digital communication channels, with experience using design and creative software
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving skills to design and measure the success of communications projects
  • Can handle sensitive information with professionalism
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have a strong ability to engage and influence others
  • Work well under pressure and manage time effectively
