Our client is responsible for digital health services and systems, with a focus on engagement, innovation, clinical quality, and safety. 
The Role:
Our Client is seeking an APS6 Budget Officer / Management Accountant to perform accountable under limited direction to perform complex work for the client’s external budget requirements
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Acquire, maintain and apply an in-depth knowledge of the Agency’s role and operating environment, leveraging this knowledge to inform input into submissions, briefings and new policy proposals, and translate into value-add costing, financial modelling and financial analysis.
  • Responsible for contributing to key team deliverables, monitoring the budget environment and approval processes, and delivering quality outcomes.
  • Strengthen partnerships across the Finance Branch and business through regular involvement in ad hoc financial projects, automation initiatives and simplification programs.
  • Work within the established legislative and policy framework for the client’s budgetary process to provide high quality outputs, advice and options, and undertake research and analysis of the client’s budgetary framework to diagnose complex budget issues and provide input to manage these.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve work area and agency goals with limited direction.
You will have:
  • Tertiary Education or related qualifications to the field.
  • Ability to Apply an in-depth knowledge of the legislative and Agency financial management and accounting requirements to deliver high quality new policy costings and modelling, and input to Portfolio Budget Statements in required timeframes in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Ability to Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve work area and agency goals.
  • Work with independence under the client’s budgetary frameworks, and the client’s strategic and policy environment to provide subject matter expertise on budgetary activities and requirements to support the delivery of quality outcomes.
