Job description

On behalf of a large Federal Government Agency, we are looking for a talented Financial Reporting Lead to join our team. This is a 6 month assignment, Monday to Friday, paying $602.55 per day plus super. 

In this role, you will play a critical part in managing and enhancing the financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities will include; 
  • Lead Financial Reporting Functions: Oversee month-end inputs, reporting, analysis, and controls, including balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Improve Month-End Processes: Drive efficient and accurate month-end cycles across the finance team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate General Ledger Procedures: Manage monthly General Ledger close and reporting procedures, ensuring accuracy in financial records.
  • Prepare Financial Statements: Lead the preparation of financial statements and liaise with the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) on audit matters.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with internal and external auditors, business partners, and other stakeholders for effective communication and collaboration.
To be considered for this role you will demonstrate; 
  • Previous experience within a similar role 
  • Team leadership skills and experience 
  • Ability to lead the preparation of financial statements and reporting 
  • Educational Background: Relevant academic qualifications with membership in Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA), Certified Practising Accountants (CPA), or other equivalent professional finance bodies.
