The Opportunity 

On behalf of a large Federal Government Agency, we are looking for an experienced PowerBI Developer to join the Service Reliability team based in Geelong. This is a 12 month assignment. 

As the Power BI Developer, you will be responsible for developing advanced dashboards to support corporate reporting and data sharing across the organisation, playing a critical role in providing actionable insights and enhancing operational effectiveness. 

Duties will include; 
  • Design and develop PowerBi dashboards and reports that accurately represent complex data sets and meet business needs
  • Collaborate with various teams to understand their data visualisation requirements and translate these into effective PowerBi solutions.
  • Ensure the integrity, reliability, and performance of PowerBI dashboards, including optimising data models for efficiency.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of PowerBI developments and integrate new features and capabilities to continually enhance dashboard functionalities.
  • Provide training and support to staff in using PowerBi dashboards, ensuring widespread adoption 
  • Extract, transform, and load data from various sources into Power BI.

To be considered you will demonstrate;
  • Proven experience in PowerBI development, with a strong portfolio of successfully deployed dashboards and reports.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and transform it into impactful visual representations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with various stakeholders and understand their data reporting needs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Data Integration.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Power BI Service Administration and Data Governance.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in data-specific roles or similar stream.
  • Relevant tertiary or industry recognised qualification.
Desirable skills include; 
  • Experience in working in the SAS VA Environment
  • Experience working in the SPLUNK Environment
  • Coding Languages:  Python, SQL, SAS SQL, SPL
