One of our largest clients is now seeking an EL1 PowerBi Developer to join there fast-growing team of talented individuals offering an attractive pay in Deakin.

About the role
The ICT Service Reliability Reporting team is integral to the Office of the Chief Information Officer’s (OCIO) mission of driving digital transformation and enhancing data-driven decision-making capabilities. As a PowerBi Developer, the incumbent will be responsible for developing advanced PowerBi dashboards to support corporate reporting and data sharing across the OCIO, thus playing a critical role in providing actionable insights and enhancing operational efficiencies.

Duties
  • Design and develop PowerBi dashboards and reports that accurately represent complex data sets and meet the OCIO’s reporting needs.
  • Collaborate with various OCIO teams and branches to understand their data visualisation requirements and translate these into effective PowerBi solutions.
  • Ensure the integrity, reliability, and performance of PowerBi dashboards, including optimising data models for efficiency.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of PowerBi developments and integrate new features and capabilities to continually enhance dashboard functionalities.
  • Provide training and support to OCIO staff in using PowerBi dashboards, ensuring widespread adoption and effective utilisation.
  • Foster an adaptive culture within the team in line with agency values and nurture effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Extract, transform, and load data from various sources into Power BI.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across different datasets.
  • Demonstrate new innovations to the Service Reliability ICT Reporting team and management.
Desired Experience  
  • Proven experience in PowerBi development, with a strong portfolio of successfully deployed dashboards and reports.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and transform it into impactful visual representations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with various stakeholders and understand their data reporting needs.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously with high attention to detail.
  • Experience in working within a government context or providing services to government agencies is highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Data Integration:
    • Extract, transform, and load data from various sources into Power BI.
    • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across different datasets.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Power BI Service Administration and Data Governance,
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in data-specific roles or similar stream.
  • Relevant tertiary or industry recognized qualification.
  • Experience in working in the SAS VA Environment
  • Experience working in the SPLUNK Environment
  • Coding Languages: Python, SQL, SAS SQL, SP
