  • $602.55 / Daily Rate / Ex Super
  • Deakin, ACT
  • 12-month contract (possible extension)
About the client
One of our largest clients is now seeking an EL1 Procurement and Contracts Officer to join there fast-growing team of talented individuals offering an attractive pay in Deakin.

About the role
The EL1 Procurement will exercise a considerable degree of independence to engage in very complex problem solving and issues management within the procurement and contract management functions. The position requires exercising sound decision-making and judgement to produce high level policy advice and operational support.
 
Duties
  • Consulting and collaborating with internal stakeholders and business areas, providing a combined education and business intelligence function to identify upcoming issues that require action, further advice or forward planning.
  • Working collaboratively with multiple business areas as a procurement business partner, and managing a team to develop market approach documentation, evaluate tenders and negotiate contracts.
  • Leading an integrated approach to identifying procurement requirements early in the process, including supporting the planning activities within the wider team.
  • Ensuring procurement activities are conducted in line with legislative requirements, the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and Procurement Policies.
  • Delivering support and advice in relation to compliance with the Commonwealth Grant Rules and Guidelines (CGRGs), the Procurement Framework, and Agency policies and procedures.
  • Managing regular policy and process reviews for continuous business improvement in order to benefit the business clients and improving procurement business partnership.
  • Ensuring corporate contracts are managed effectively and deliver value for money outcomes.
Desirable
  • Demonstrated procurement experience and knowledge in federal or state government.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team.
  • Relevant qualification in Commonwealth Procurement such as Cert IV in Procurements and Contracts.
