About the role
This position will be key to delivering the uplift of data reporting and analytics capability across the agency by managing the enhancements phase of the Agency’s new Azure based analytics platform.
The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for developing, overseeing the scoping of, and successful delivery of a group of data, analytics & data related technology projects. This will be delivered by applying traditional Project management, associated principles, and methodologies in a fast-paced environment.
Delivering on time, within scope, and on budget. They will work closely with project planning, technical, and delivery teams to create and manage detailed project plans to track progress and minimise project risk. They will create project schedules that align dependencies and deliverables from third party/vendors including, elevating key milestones that must be managed as part of the program master schedule. They must ensure that the relevant stakeholder input is incorporated into the project schedule and delivery.  
As Senior Program Manager you will have knowledge of, and experience in digital health data. This includes analysis and implementation of data related technology, specifically tailored to the digital health ecosystem. 
  • You will have strong personal drive and remain abreast of current trends, including the future direction of data and related technology in a digital health ecosystem. You will also be responsible for actively promoting data capability uplift and technology enhancement to the broader agency.
  • Relevant duties
Leadership and Accountability
  • Provide senior program and project management of several enhancement projects aimed at uplifting the Agency’s digital health data, analytics and reporting capability.
  • Recommend strategic directions for area of responsibility and consider wider agency implications when making decisions.
  • Drive data innovation and data improvement strategies.Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
Job Context and Environment
  • Attain and maintain an extensive understanding of the role and responsibilities of the agency, including and understanding of the APS operating environment more broadly.
  • Work within established legislative and policy frameworks.
  • Support the Director in the delivery of business requirements for projects.
  • Define, plan, and design the program and projects that meets business objectives.
  • Establish team capability and suitable strategies that enable the delivery of the program.
  • Establish the capability for day-to-day management of the program, including taking the program forward from the concept stage, supervising the execution, through to program closure.
  • Ensure the program plan clearly outlines the alignment with strategy, business outcomes, and benefit realisation.
  • Ensure the program is delivered in accordance with approved baselines (scope, time, cost, quality, and benefits).
  • Establish structured governance groups/committees to gain program approval. This includes regularly reviewing and tracking program against project milestones and deliverables.
  • Effective organisational change management throughout program delivery.
  • Ensure effective and regular reporting is provided with variances reported for all tasks, milestones, and outcomes.
  • Initiate extra activities and other management interventions wherever gaps in the program are identified or issues arise.
