Job Opportunity: Environment Advisor  

DFP Perth are seeking an experienced Environment Advisor to engage on a temporary contract with a State Government agency based in Perth’s CBD.
  
Start Date: Immediate 
Contract Length: 6 months 
Pay rate: $96, 307.00 – $121, 569.00 based on experience  
Location: Perth CBD 

Role Description: As an Environmental Advisor you will be providing expert advice for major State Government transport projects. Work closely with the Environmental Manager to ensure compliance with legislation and environmental standards.  

Responsibilities
 
  • Offer technical advice and support, conducting compliance reviews and facilitating stakeholder communication. 
  • Manage consultant contracts and coordinate environmental reporting. 
  • Represent the Environmental Services Branch at workshops and maintain stakeholder relationships. 
  • Fulfill additional duties as required. 

Selection Criteria


Core Competencies: 
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or related fields. 
  • Understanding of environmental legislation and its application. 
  • Experience in engaging and managing consultants, with practical knowledge of environmental management in transport projects. 
 
Communication and Interpersonal Skills: 
  • Strong verbal and written communication, negotiation, and facilitation skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team. 
 
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: 
  • Proficiency in analysis, research, and report writing. 
 
Organisational Skills: 
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously. 
 
Special Requirements: 
  • Satisfactory completion of medical examinations and a current Police Clearance certificate. 
  • Possession of a valid Western Australian 'C' or 'C-A' Class Driver’s Licensed or equivalent. 
  • Ability to meet the requirement of Supervised Worker (SW) Track Access within an agreed period.
