The Organisation

This Government body works with people with disability, providers, and the community to deliver nationally consistent, responsive, and effective regulation of service providers. They seek to uphold the rights of, and promote the health, safety, and wellbeing of people with disability receiving supports or services.
 
About the team and the roles
The Parliamentary, Ministerial and FOI Branch manages the relationship between the Agency and the Minister’s Office. It supports the Agency in meeting the Minister’s objectives and priorities by providing timely, objective and strategic advice. The branch ensures the Agency are meeting their obligations under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) and for the Participant Information Access (PIA) Scheme.
 
APS4 Freedom of Information Officers:
The position will provide operational and administrative support that is informed and directed by sound knowledge in areas and may undertake some research and analysis activities.
 
APS5 Freedom of Information Officers:
The APS5 FOI Action Officer (Labour Hire) will provide quality assurance checks, training, advice and guidance to the team on an ongoing basis and as required, as well as operational and administrative support that is informed and directed by sound knowledge in areas. They may undertake some research and analysis activities.
The role will have a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders and will be required to communicate and provide advice on a range of matters to resolve moderately complex enquiries.
 
APS6 Governance, Outreach and FOI Delegate:
The APS6 Governance, Outreach and FOI Delegate (Labour Hire) will assist the team with PIA requests made to the Agency and will ensure the Agency meets its KPIs in relation to PIA requests where required. The role will be a delegated FOI and PIA decision maker and will make robust FOI and PIA decisions.
The position will, under limited supervision, manage relationships with stakeholders within this Agency, other Government agencies, the Ministers Office and the Office of the Information Commissioner.
The position will perform work that involves team leadership, coordination and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team. The role will also contribute to the development of the Agency’s information handling requirements.
