Job description

Our client, a federal government department is seeking an experienced Legal Administrator to undertake a support role in their team at the APS3 level.

In this role you will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Creating and updating case files
  • Photocopying / filing and data entry
  • Collating documents for court
  • Formatting, drafting and lodging documentation
  • Arranging meetings and coordinating travel
  • Responding to a variety of queries and providing accurate information
To be successful in this role you must:
  • Legal administration experience would be preferred
  • Demonstrate excellent computer skills / the ability to learn new systems
  • Be able to build rapport with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Respond to queries in an efficient and professional manner
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have the ability to understand and apply relevant legislation and policy

Effective communication and the ability to build positive working relationships with relevant stakeholders will be critical to your success in this role.  You will need to be flexible to work changes and shifting priorities and have the ability to identify any issues that could impact designated tasks.

The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential; as is your ability to use your initiative in prioritising your work to ensure objectives are met.
