DFP Recruitment is urgently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a large Federal Government Department. Senior Project Manager needs to manage the end-to-end delivery of large, complex Information Technology projects across
applications and infrastructure, requiring a high level of project integration.The role is required to undertake work that is very complex or sensitive and operate under broad direction, exercising a considerable degree of independence and perform
an important leadership role. The role is also responsible for initiating, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and may lead a work team or teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Experience in managing a team(s) of project members operating on large sized IT projects, in a complex, multi-platform and multi-vendor environment.
  • Ability to liaise with multiple technical stakeholders to reach an agreed decision on the target state.
  • Proven track record in managing and applying project management competencies.
  • Defining project objectives, high-level scope, roles & responsibilities, and resource requirements.
  • Develop documentation including, but not limited to business cases, project proposals, RACI, project plans, project schedules, governance reporting packs, resource impact analysis (effort/cost estimations), cashflow forecast / actual, project change requests, project change, risk and issue logs.
  • Manage, track and prepare project status reports on schedule, budget, scope, quality, risks/issues, dependencies, project change requests according to project plan.
  • Manage resources, updating and finalisation of contracts with consultancy service providers.
  • Strong conceptual abilities coupled with a strong knowledge (or an ability to gain this knowledge) of the organisation's business requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management – multiple teams and ability to understand, negotiate and resolve very complex, difficult and/or sensitive issues that may arise within a project.
  • Effective leadership and people management skills with strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.
