Job Title: Training Manager
Employer: DFP Recruitment client
Position Type: 12 Month Casual Temporary Contract
Pay Rate: $77.40 per hour + Super
Location: Fremantle, WA 6160
Role Overview: This role supports the finance team by performing accounting functions, ensuring compliance with standards, and assisting in month-end reporting. Responsibilities include maintaining financial models, data manipulation, and providing financial advice for capital and cost centers. It also involves quality checks on Capital Works in Progress, assisting in annual financial statements and budgets, and coordinating financial information with the Treasury.
 
 
Key Responsibilities;
  • Support, assist and work co-operatively with finance team members in the delivery of quality professional services resulting in the collective achievement of objectives, operational plans and performance targets.
  • Perform accounting functions efficiently and effectively to ensure they comply with relevant accounting, other legislative and corporate requirements, corporate policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and perform month end reporting processes including P&L, reconciliations, variance investigation and updates to various corporate reports and dashboards. This includes maintaining and creating financial models, data extraction and manipulation (from Oracle, the EPM budget tool and other applications and sources) to produce useful management reporting.
  • Provide business partnering activities for capital and allocated cost centres by providing financial information and advice, assistance in monthly accruals, reporting and forecasting processes.  In relation to capital this may also include involvement in business case reviews and NPV modelling/reviews.
  • Review and perform quality check on monthly Capital Works in Progress and relevant reconciliations.
  • Assists in the preparation of the annual statutory financial statements and in the annual budget process including the Capital Mid-year Review and Budget.
  • Prepare and coordinate financial returns and capital project information in the Treasury Information Management System and regularly liaise with Treasury on relevant matters.


Essential to be successful in this role; 
  • Possession of a Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
  • Eligibility for membership of CPA Australia or equivalent.
  • Extensive demonstrated competency in accounting in a commercial environment.
  • Well-developed working knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, Practices and Concepts and their application.
  • Extensive experience in the use of computerised financial management information systems, financial modelling, data extraction and manipulation, and report writing tools. Intermediate/advanced Excel skills and knowledge of Oracle or EPM applications preferred.
  • Well-developed ability and experience in planning, organising and achieving work priorities and working to tight timeframes.
  • High level interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • High level analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills.
  • Current valid NPC or able to obtain one
