Contract Type: Initial 12-month contract with potential extension
Salary Range: $60.26 p/hr + su[er

About the Role
A prominent Federal Government agency is seeking an experienced APS6 Project Officer to join a high-performing team that plays a key role in strategic planning and delivery of meaningful change across national initiatives.
Working under limited direction, the successful candidate will coordinate and support a range of projects aligned with the agency’s mission to enhance service delivery and drive continuous improvement.
This role is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a passion for improving public outcomes and making a genuine impact in the lives of Australians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and assist with project management activities, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and timelines
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on project processes and best practices
  • Conduct research, data analysis and contribute to reporting on project outcomes
  • Prepare high-quality written materials including business cases, briefs, and executive reports
  • Monitor risks and issues, and contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support business outcomes
  • Support procurement and contract management processes
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in agile project management methodologies
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within tight deadlines
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills across internal and external networks
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical mindset with ability to make evidence-informed decisions
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite (Word, PowerPoint, Planner, etc.)
  • Understanding of accessibility and privacy principles within a government context
