About the role
The Interoperability Implementation team sits within the Clinical and Digital Health Standards Governance Branch of the Digital Strategy division. Reporting to the Director, Interoperability Implementation and Project Manager, the Project Officer is accountable under limited direction to perform, coordinate and assist in a range of moderately complex to complex project support activities, program and project management, with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills, including but not limited to monitoring of the portfolio, responsible for updating the project plans and budget management, applying effective project management tools to provide the best possible results within agreed program time frames. Work may involve management responsibilities requiring the setting of project priorities and managing work-flows.

The Project Officer is an important conduit within the Division providing direct support to the project team, and through consultation and stakeholder engagement coordinates and contributes to the timely and accurate achievement of Division outcomes.
Skills & Qualifications

The key skills and experience required include:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Project Officer within large organisations
  • Adept with MS Office Suite, including Project, Visio, Microsoft Teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to engage with numerous stakeholders via several means, e.g. workshop facilitation,
  • Responsible for coordinating meetings, agenda and minute preparation, and follow up on outstanding actions.
  • Provide expertise and technical knowledge in specialist area across a range of programs or activities for the agency.
  • Provide accurate and specialised advice including anticipating problems and contributing to issues management.
  • Ensure knowledge of and compliance with legislative, financial and administrative frameworks, government decision-making processes and agency guidelines and regulations.
  • Set priorities for the work area, maintain team cohesion, and ensure quality of outputs for the work area.
