About the Role
As a key member of the Retail Leadership Team, this position carries direct accountability over the day to day operations of the assigned store(s) remit, and responsible for driving brand promise in the local territory/catchment.
With an engaged workforce and a culture of customer centricity at the core, the Area Manager plays a direct role in influencing market share growth through the delivery of agreed customer acquisition and revenue targets, whilst also contributing to the improvement of employee engagement & quality assurance.
This position is responsible for the development of operational & go to market strategy for the assigned Territory/catchment, leads the execution of all inbound and outbound sales & service activity for their brand in the region, and directly supports the Consumer, Corporate, Diversified and Overseas portfolios with the delivery of acquisition plans.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Set clear vision, priorities, objectives and operating rhythms for the team, and promote a culture of achievement, empowerment and accountability.
  • Develop a high performing sales and service team that is passionate about delivering great customer experiences.
  • Lead the formation of a world class coaching culture in the territory/catchment, by consistently role modelling coaching and training delivery.
  • Schedule, plan and perform one-on-one regular feedback, coaching & training to maximise capability and overall team productivity and staff engagement.
  • Ensure robust performance management processes are in place within the business, leading to continuous improvement in employee individual productivity and performance.
  • Recognise and reward people for their skills, competencies, and contribution to continuing success
  • Encourage career and other development opportunities of the team as part of the National Sales & Service People Plan.
  • Through direct accountability over the end to end sales performance for the territory/catchment, oversee the development of a commercially focussed growth plan for the business.
  • Achieve the targeted growth through customer acquisition/revenue contribution while delivering effective cost controls.
  • Develop targeted acquisition, cross-sell and up-sell coaching and performance strategies with improved conversion rates for the business.
  • Optimise sales opportunities and growth through effective utilisation of resources and an in-depth understanding of the local market.
  • Generate targeted growth and performance improvement for the region through a relentless focus on the development of outbound channels to market, with demonstrable consistent productivity improvement from these additional revenue lines.
  • Directly lead the execution of the Raving Fans strategy for the territory/catchment.
  • Deliver the required Quality Assurance standard for the business.
  • Maintain optimum customer satisfaction through effective management of customer feedback.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Oversee the sales culture to ensure needs-based customer conversations at all times, resulting in high customer advocacy and low lapse.
Skills and Experience
  • Proven ability in leading high performing teams in a single/multisite environment.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years proven ability in a leadership role within a sales & service environment.
  • Proven experience in coaching and providing feedback to others.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the health services, finance, or insurance industry within Australia.
  • Effective stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
