  • $850 - $900 / Daily / Ex Super
  • Deakin, ACT
  • 12-month contract (possible extension) 
About the client
One of our largest clients is now seeking an EL1 Business Analyst and EL1 Technical Analyst to join there fast-growing team of talented individuals offering an attractive pay in Deakin.

About the role
The EL1 Business Analyst is responsible for actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and where required will represent and negotiate on behalf of the agency across a range of forums and as a Technical Business Analyst, you will assist in the delivery of diverse and varied projects, centred around a large-scale digital transformation that is currently underway. A key to your role will be ensuring that requirements are captured and supporting the team to document solutions, processes and technical detail. Building relationships and business acumen are two of your key skills that you use to support the team in delivering positive outcomes for the agency. 

EL1 Business Analyst
  • Analysing data, interpreting results, and producing reports using advanced statistical techniques.
  • Overseeing and coordinating divisional and branch reporting to monitor, track, and drive
  • improvement and performance outcomes.
  • Leading the development of business functional requirements and resources, ensuring consistency with contractual, legislative, and policy environments.
  • Leading the team in translating business metrics to inform and guide internal stakeholders on
  • efficiency, improvement, and performance outcomes including mentoring other staff.
  • Leading a strategic approach in designing, delivering, and facilitating workshops, communication, and consultation resources to support complex systems and business information, gathering and sharing.
  • Managing the establishment, implementation of the governance and compliance processes, dashboards, and management systems to track and evaluate branch and divisional performance.
  • Leading and overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and audit of risk processes, controls, and undertaking issues resolution.
EL1 Technical Business Analyst
  • Work closely with program, business, and technical stakeholders to effectively discover, define, validate, prioritise and continuously manage requirements that translate identified needs into outcomes which align with the agencies architectural principles and strategies.
  • Synthesise business and technical requirements/concepts and present them in simple terms.
  • Work with both traditional and Agile delivery practices including backlog creation / refinement and associated requirements gathering, data discovery and analysis.
  • Facilitate workshops and perform business analysis activities including business process modelling, business and solution requirements lifecycle management, and data modelling.
  • Assist the project manager and the team to translate requirements into project deliverables and tasks.
  • Assist team members to effectively document the systems and solutions that the team develops, delivers and maintains.
  • Suggest changes/enhancements to management using evidence to support your recommendations.
  • Work with various business units to support and maintain new and existing customer data and system integrations.
  • Work with an outcome focus, with an ability to effectively challenge the business while retaining a customer focus.
  • Work effectively with dynamic technical teams, business stakeholders and 3rd party providers.
Essential Criteria  
  • Demonstrated experience of at least 5 years, working in a similar role performing business analysis activities including workshop facilitation, supporting the successful delivery of high-impact and high-value initiatives that lead to meaningful change.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating with technical SME's to define and obtain an understanding of business needs, technical constraints, and technical concepts and present them in simple terms.
  • The ability and desire to quickly learn and understand technical concepts to effectively engage the technical teams and deliver accurate documentation as part of the solution design.
  • Proven experience, of at least 3 years, in a role relating to cloud platforms (preferably Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure) including delivery of new services.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively liaise and keep stakeholders informed and engaged, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, cultivating productive working relationships across multiple projects and business areas.
  • A proven ability to use initiative and self-drive to meet demanding deadlines. Self-managed, adaptable and quick to learn.
Desirable Criteria  
  • Experience in working with diverse project, in-house development, and vendor teams to deploy complex, integrated technologies and effect business change.
  • Demonstrated experience and flexibility to adapt to agile and waterfall processes to deliver projects.
