DFP Recruitment is urgently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a large Federal Government Department. Project Manager with proven record of accomplishment and experience in delivering ICT software projects and managing defined projects to deliver outputs and products in accordance with budget and quality standards which contribute to the delivery of ICT solutions across the organisation. Project manager could be working on the following projects or initiatives; Telephony Management solution, Regulatory Management System enhancements, Cloud transitions, Network replacement and Information Uplift project.

The key Responsibilities:
  • Defining the project scope, objectives, and milestones in collaboration with the project sponsor and other stakeholders.
  • Developing business cases which describe potential benefits and options for achieving these benefits through development of new or changed processes.
  • Developing and maintaining a detailed project plan that outlines the tasks, resources, dependencies, risks, and issues of the project.
  • Managing the project budget and tracking the project expenses and revenues.
  • Communicating the project status, progress, and changes to the relevant parties, such as the project team, senior management, and clients.
  • Managing the project risks and issues and implementing mitigation and contingency plans as needed.
  • Ensuring the project deliverables comply with the quality standards and specifications and conducting quality assurance tests and reviews.
  • Coordinating the project closure activities, such as documentation, handover, evaluation, and lessons learned.
  • Be accountable for investigating business needs, problems, and opportunities to support and recommend effective business and ICT changes.
  • Prepare business cases which describe potential benefits and options for achieving these benefits through development of new or changed processes.
  • Build and sustain relationships with a range of stakeholders.
 
Skills: -
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field. Professional certification, such as PMP or PRINCE2, is an asset.
  • At least five years of experience in managing IT projects.
  • Strong knowledge of the project management methodologies, tools, and best practices,
  • such as agile, waterfall, scrum, etc.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent coordination and organisational skills and ability to drive business improvements.
