About the Role
Support and assist the Category Manager in all aspects of product planning, indent buy compilation, key account management, sample management, and range preparation. The Category Assistant is responsible for overseeing and managing the retail Health & Beauty lines, collaborating in tandem with a Category Manager to achieve effective results.

Based at our modern Head Office in the heart of the CBD, located within walking distance to Southern Cross station, This is a full-time hybrid role working from home and in the office weekly. 
  • Taking ownership of the quality of their work, the team environment, and delivery outcomes
  • Analysing data to draw insights on product performance and identify actions to address sourcing and promotional activities
  • Review pricing and margins master data with the lens of remaining competitive in the marketplace
  • Manage the range review and promotional planning processes for your category in conjunction with your supply partners
  • Oversees (with the Financial Manager) the budgets and financial performance of the category, ensuring the category P&L is met
This is an initial 3-month contract with a view to permanency for the right candidates

 Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes
  • Demonstrated category/buyers assistant experience within a retail health and beauty environment (preferred)
  • Exposure to Vitamins and family nutrition products an advantage
  • Experience in retail, preferably in a head office/ support centre based role preferred but not essential
  • Strong attention to detail & communication skills vital to this role
  • Computer literacy –Intermediate level required for Excel, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Sharepoint an advantage. 
  • An energetic attitude for learning is vital if you have a desire to build a career in Category Management 
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in entering data
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks
