Job description

Our state government client is seeking a Senior ICT Business Analyst to assist in the implementation of a new CRM system, the modelling of business processes and workflows, definition of user stories and to assist in the Agile delivery of the new solution. This is a 12 month assignment commencing in July 2022 located in the Perth CBD.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in business analysis frameworks and methodologies (e.g., BABOK, IIBA). Ideally, they should also have prior experience with digital transformation related projects.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Business process improvement (BPRE) Level 6
Plans and leads strategic, large and complex business process improvement activities aligned with automation or exploiting existing or new technologies. Develops organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for business process improvement. Leads the introduction of techniques, methodologies, and tools to meet business requirements, ensuring consistency across all user groups. Leads the development of organisational capabilities for business process improvement and ensures adoption and adherence to policies and standards.

Business Modelling (BSMO) Level 4
Conducts advanced modelling activities for significant change programmes and across multiple business functions. Has in-depth knowledge of organisation-specific techniques. Plans own modelling activities, selecting appropriate techniques and the correct level of detail for meeting assigned objectives. May contribute to discussions about the choice of modelling approach. Obtains input from and communicates modelling results to senior managers for agreement.
 
Requirement’s definition and management (REQM) Level 5
Plans and drives scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation activities for large, complex initiatives. Selects, adopts, and adapts appropriate requirements definition and management methods, tools and techniques. Contributes to the development of organisational methods and standards for requirements management. Obtains input from, and agreement to requirements from a diverse range of stakeholders. Negotiates with stakeholders to manage competing priorities and conflicts. Establishes requirements baselines. Ensures changes to requirements are investigated and managed.
 
User Experience Analysis (UNAN) Level 4
Selects appropriate techniques and tools to develop user stories and elicit user experience requirements in complex situations. Identifies and describes the design goals for systems, products, services and devices. Identifies the roles of affected stakeholder groups. Resolves potential conflicts between differing user requirements. Specifies measurable criteria for the required usability and accessibility of systems, products, services and devices.

The candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in the following areas:
  • Business process modelling and workshop facilitation in the enterprise environment;
  • Business and technical requirements elicitation from diverse stakeholders impacted by large technology projects;
  • Create and review documentation, following leading practice, to communicate business, system and solution requirements and other key information to the client and project team;
  • Waterfall and Agile technology projects, and the ability to mentor the project team on adopting Agile (Scrum) methodologies;
  • Applying technology in enhancing business processes and workflows;
  • Providing objective advice, expertise, and specialist skills with the aim of creating value and improving business performance;
  • Preparing recommendations/options papers and/or business cases which define potential benefits, options for achieving these benefits through development of new or changed processes or systems;
  • Building and sustaining productive relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, communicating, and effectively influencing and negotiating desired outcomes;
  • Identification of key stakeholders and stakeholder networks;
  • Contribution to a positive team culture

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Essential:
  • Minimum of 10 years’ Business Analysis experience across a broad range of ICT and Digital Transformation projects
  • Broad understanding and experience in Enterprise IT technologies and environments
  • Experienced in use and delivery Agile methodologies
  • Be highly organised and consultative, combining high levels of analytical skills (in terms of information, data, processes, and frameworks)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including documentation skills
Desirable:
  • Possession of current Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN) 2.0 certification
  • Possession of qualifications in Business Analysis: BABOK – the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge, International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) and their equivalents
  • Scrum master certification
  • Client Relationship Management system implementation experience
  • Public sector and/or Legal industry experience
  • Organisational change management experience
