Senior People Partner – State Government Client – 4 month contract

Our state government client is seeking a Senior People Partner to start ASAP until the end of June 2025 in their Perth CBD office.  

 Rate: $65-75 per hour plus Super (depending on experience) 

Location: Perth WA 
Duration: Approx. 4 months 
Hours: Full-time (38 hours per week) 
Type: Temporary casual contract (no leave entitlements – casual loading included in rate)   

This is a generalist role excluding recruitment and organisational development.  We are seeking someone with work, health and safety experience in generalist HR capacities, however we welcome candidates without WHS experience. 

ROLE SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES 
• Provides a proactive consultancy and advisory service, partnering with management and overseas offices on complex HR issues to achieve solutions to meet business needs. 
• Acts as a conduit between business areas and HR operational activities, facilitating the effectiveness of HR services. 
• Provides advice to business areas on management of workforce requirements. 
• Develop and implement auditable HR systems, processes and procedures to ensure a consistent approach to ensure Corporate Governance and adherence to Departmental guidelines. 
• Customize, implement and communicate country specific; and departmental policies and procedures that are consistent with corporate policy, compliant with relevant local and Australian legislation, and reflective of contemporary human resource practices. 
• Senior People Partners will be required to take on a lead role within the People and Culture team on one or more of the following functions: employee relations, workplace health and safety; payroll; international offices; HR reporting; workforce planning; equity and diversity. 
• Conducts regular reviews of human resource practices and systems and make suggestions on changes. 
• Leads and coordinates projects on People and Culture initiatives. 
• Actively promotes implementation and management of People and Culture change and corporate initiatives. 
• Prepares HR management reports, incorporating feedback and provides recommendation together with recommendation for consideration by stakeholders. 
• Formulates and applies strategies which promote People and Culture best practice and contribute to a proactive HR business partnering model. 
• Develops and maintains cooperative relationships with key stakeholders.  

JOB REQUIREMENTS 
Essential 
• Considerable experience in providing customer-focused and broad HR generalist consultancy and advisory services at a senior level. 
• Considerable knowledge and understanding of legislative requirements related to human resources and contemporary human resource management theory and practice. 
Desirable 
• HR or related qualification and/or membership of Australian Human Resource Institute.
