Job description

Our client, a Federal Government Agency, is responsible for national digital health services and systems, with a focus on engagement, innovation, clinical quality, and safety. This department is tasked with getting data and technology to work for patients, consumers and the heath-care professionals who look after them.

Working closely with the Agency’s Conformance and Assistance team, our client is looking to engage a Technical Advisor to work in a multi-skilled role that will require flexibility and adaptability to cover a breadth of tasks arising across the Medicines Safety Program. The Program is focused on the national safety agenda and aims to address the impact of medication errors, inappropriate medicine use and medicines misadventure.

Key responsibilities:

  • Research and verify technical details associated with the practical implementation of the Program and provide advice to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyse project implementation data and statistics to provide guidance to the Program’s Director and other agency officers.
  • Draft and/or input into technical documentation such as technical frameworks for ePrescribing and associated documents such as issue and incident management procedures.
  • Facilitate industry wide discussions relating to the Electronic Prescribing eco-system.
  • Manage defined Medicines Safety projects in accordance with the Agency’s project management framework and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare advice, discussion papers, procurement documentation, briefs and submissions for both operational and reporting responsibilities of the Program.

  • A strong background working in complex environments with a significant strategy or technology component.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to employ a variety of communication skills (verbal and written) tailored to the audience.
  • High level analytical skills and conceptual thinking skills, with the ability to problem solve and to provide business content to data results.
  • The appropriate tertiary qualification and full rights to work in Australia are essential.
