Level 5 – Workforce Project Support Officer
Rate: $53.93 per hour + Super (equivalent to $105,167 per annum)
Duration: 6 Month
Hours: Full-Time
Start: Immediate
Location: Perth CBD - Primarily Office-Based (Ad hoc WFH available)
We are looking for candidates with demonstrated experience in project delivery within a Human Resources and Corporate Services context. This includes project planning, stakeholder engagement, reporting, risk scoping and mitigation, and developing and maintaining project documentation.
Experience in change management is highly desirable, particularly contributing to and executing change planning and implementation activities.
The roles will also involve analysing, researching, and evaluating departmental and broader public sector policies.
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced HR Project Officer to join the Workforce Projects team within the People and Culture Directorate.
This role is suited to a capable Level 5 candidate who can independently deliver workforce-related projects within a government environment. You will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aligned to workforce strategy, HR policy development, organisational culture enhancement, and employee wellbeing programs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead or manage components of workforce and HR improvement projects
Clarify project scope, timelines, milestones and deliverables
Develop project documentation including business cases, briefs and reports
Apply structured project and change management methodologies
Undertake research and analysis to inform policy and workforce strategy
Identify opportunities to improve HR systems, policies and processes
Provide high-level advice to internal stakeholders on HR policy and project matters
Facilitate training and information sessions relating to new or revised policies
Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Monitor risks and implement mitigation strategies
Contribute to the HR Operational Plan and broader People & Culture initiatives
About You
Strong experience delivering projects within HR or Corporate Services
Sound knowledge of public sector HR frameworks, policy development and legislation
Analytical capability and the ability to interpret and apply policy
Experience contributing to or executing change management activities
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team
This role would suit someone who has worked in WA Government at Level 5 or equivalent and understands the pace, governance requirements and reporting expectations of the public sector.
