APS 6 Test Lead
  • $700 – $850 / Daily Rate (excluding super)  
  • Canberra
  • Contract (12-months, possible extension)
About the role
The Data and Analytics Branch supports the Agency by providing high quality data and reporting, translating insights into measurable business performance improvements. They are a centralized team focusing on future process improvement, delivering data and reporting effectively with clear accountabilities, while building data literacy capability across the branch and regions.

The team develops, governs, and maintains an enterprise data warehouse as well as the agency reporting platforms and production content. They design and build Business Intelligence (BI) interventions and prototype analytic solutions and reports, identifying trends and drivers of performance.

  • Develop Test Strategy and Test Planning documents to align with project release plans and delivery methodology
  • Manage the testing information system repository and team access or connectivity required as part of the overall testing toolset
  • Manage business user engagement to participate in test activities (e.g. UAT)
  • Identify and plan test activities for the testing resources for the various testing deliverables for the project One big difference to lots of lives.
  • Plan, monitor, and manage the day-to-day test testing team activities and deliverables
  • Author test summary reports necessary as required and reports on the progress of testing
  • Provide a daily and weekly status report for testing activities
  • Manage and deliver testing activities as per the approved Test Acceptance Plan / Test Plan for the project
  • Coordinate with Application Developers, Business Analysts, Test Analysts, SMEs, 3rd party vendors
  • Facilitate defect triage meetings
Skills and Experience
  • Experience as a Test Manager or Test Lead on a Cloud Data Lake or Data Warehouse implementation
  • Experience reconciling large datasets to confirm source to target reconciliation, explaining any differences identified
  • Expert with JIRA, Confluence and contemporary testing tools (e.g. X-Ray)
  • Ability to query datasets using SQL and other common scripting languages
  • Proven track record managing and leading testing deliverables
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
