Job description

  • Federal Government Opportunity in Sydney CBD
  • Initial contract until the end of December with the possibility of extension
  • $39 per hour + super
Our Federal Government client is currently seeking a Client Contact Support Officer to join their Sydney Team for an immediate start contract until the end of December with the possibility of extension.

Typical Duties:
  • Delivering a professional telephone enquiry service and providing information on the range of benefits and services.
  • Guiding and assisting members of the community to appropriate information resources.
  • Conducting client assisted claiming and processing client tasks via Process Direct.
  • Redirecting more complex enquires in line with VAN procedures and escalation protocols.
  • Recording all telephone enquiries on a client contact database and forwarding appropriate written correspondence where required.
  • Liaising with other work areas, Government agencies and Service organisations.
  • Providing administrative and clerical support within the Team and assisting in the preparation of relevant resource materials.
  • Entering data accurately and efficiently whilst running multiple applications simultaneously, including internet / intranet, MS window, Client Contact recording system and various management information systems.
Successful candidates will possess the ability to:
  • Ability to manage and organise work in the context of competing priorities.
  • Attention to detail, especially when conducting proof of identity.
  • Well-developed written skills and the ability to write in a clear and concise manner.
  • Well-developed verbal communication skills and the ability to de-escalate contentious calls.  
  • Demonstrated personal resilience and ability to manage sensitive information.
  • Experience working within the parameters of the Australian Public Service.
