Rehabilitation Case Manager

Employment Type: Non-ongoing (6 months) or labour-hire contract (6 months)

A key Commonwealth agency within the industry portfolio is seeking an experienced Rehabilitation Case Manager for a 6-month assignment in Canberra. This role supports injured or unwell employees through their recovery and return-to-work journey. You’ll coordinate workplace rehabilitation programs, build strong stakeholder connections, and help ensure employees return to work safely, promptly, and sustainably.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor workplace rehabilitation plans for injured or ill employees.
  • Build effective relationships with all parties involved in the return-to-work pathway.
  • Promote the health benefits of good work and the value of early intervention.
  • Support employers to engage proactively in rehabilitation and provide suitable duties.
  • Liaise with and manage external workplace rehabilitation providers when required.
  • Respond to requests for information regarding an employee’s injury, condition, or rehabilitation progress.
  • Maintain accurate case records and complete all relevant workers’ compensation documentation.
What we are looking for:

Ausralian Citizenship and a current Baseline Security Clearance.

  • Demonstrated experience managing Comcare claims or rehabilitation cases.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Solid understanding of workplace rehabilitation practices and relevant legislation.
  • Empathetic, resilient, and confident supporting individuals through challenging situations.
