About the Role:

We are partnering with a public-sector organisation to recruit an experienced Legal & Project Coordinator to provide senior-level legal, commercial, and risk coordination support. This role will suit an experienced legal professional who enjoys mentoring others and managing complex legal and corporate matters.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide senior paralegal and legal services to internal stakeholders
· Provide guidance, feedback, and mentoring to junior legal team members on legal and commercial matters
· Liaise and negotiate with external parties on complex legal issues
· Prepare and review complex legal and commercial correspondence and reports
· Negotiate, prepare, and review complex legal and non-legal documents, including commercial agreements
· Brief and review advice from the State Solicitor’s Office and external law firms and communicate outcomes to internal stakeholders
· Support complex general legal and commercial matters as requested
· Coordinate and manage Freedom of Information requests, subpoenas, and document production requests
· Coordinate corporate risk management activities and corporate reporting
· Facilitate corporate risk workshops and support risk policy reviews and corporate projects
· Provide general support to the legal and commercial services team, including claims and insurance matters
Skills & Experience Required

Essential:
· Demonstrated ability to provide guidance, feedback (both positive and constructive), and mentoring to legal team members
· Strong ability to interpret legal advice, apply legal principles, undertake legal research, and problem-solve effectively
· Highly developed written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
Desirable:
· Law degree with relevant legal experience
