DFP Recruitment are currently seeking an APS6 Local Area Coordinator for a Federal Government Agency in Fitzroy Crossing. These are 18-month casual assignments; therefore, the hourly rates are inclusive of casual loading and in lieu of leave entitlements.
APS6 Local Area Coordinator, $60.26 per hour + superannuation
This is a team leadership position with the responsibility to resolve issues and risks across a range of activities. The role is required to provide leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making, along with providing detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. Where required, the role will coordinate and assist in strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support the agency.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Working with service providers and participants to gather and verify information to facilitate access decisions and/or plan development.
- Monitoring participant plans, ensuring effective implementation and supports expenditure throughout the life of the plan.
- Developing outcome-based plans reflecting participant choice and control within a reasonable and necessary framework.
- Undertaking reviews of plans with participants, delivering and submitting plans.
- Providing information to members of the community, mainstream services and community supports to improve participation and inclusion.
- Collaborating with team members and assisting in the development of specialised knowledge in areas of expertise,
- Coaching and mentoring staff and monitoring team capacity and workflow activities.
- Contributing to and leading quality improvement activities to enhance service delivery practice, processes and systems.
- Able to engage with stakeholders and community members, including travel to remote communities
- Effectively managing one's time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently.
- Maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work responsibilities or environment
