We are currently seeking an experienced APS6 Risk Officer to join the team within a Federal Government Agency in Richmond, Melbourne.
 
The Role
As a Risk Officer you will be required to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents with limited direction.
 
The role is a team membership position that may require the successful applicant to perform work that involves setting priorities and managing the workflows of a team.
 
The Risk Officer has reasonable autonomy and accountability to exercise both initiative and judgement to interpret legislation and policy, in the application of practices and procedures to achieve outcomes within the functions.
 
The position will provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. It may be required to coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support our client’s objectives.


Responsibilities
  • Supporting branch reporting with the timely collation and management of data
  • Analysing trends in mitigating risks, including risk treatment plans used to minimise potential exposure and harness opportunities.
  • Maintaining effective records and data management in accordance with the Agency’s information management strategies.
  • Facilitating risk reviews in line with the Risk Management Framework to support the effective identification and management of operational and project risks.

  • Delivering risk management training and education programs to promote risk management knowledge, skills and tools across all work areas
  • Fostering relationships with risk and assurance teams within the company to ensure appropriate management of shared risks and issues.
