Job description

The Technical Advisory Branch is responsible for providing specialist technical, clinical and operational advice in relation to complex cases and support requests. The branch drives consistency in the application of reasonable and necessary planning decisions and access decision-making frameworks to facilitate the achievement of Participant and Scheme Outcomes.

 

The Role and Responsbilities:

The APS6 is a team membership position and will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across a range of activities.

The APS6 Technical Advisory will provide detailed technical, policy, and operational support in relation to complex problems.

This role is offering a temporary 12 month contract, based in Brisbane CBD, paying $58.50 per hour + super.
This a ful-time position offering 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8:30am - 5:00pm.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Providing subject matter expertise using a coaching and mentoring approach, advising on the most appropriate supports to achieve participant outcomes
Manage complex and sensitive conversations and situations associated with approval of funding.
Liaising and working cooperatively with stakeholders, delegates, partners and providers to ensure consistent decision making and outcome achievement
Supporting staff conducting internal and Administrative Appeals Tribunal review of decisions.
Contribute to provision of subject matter expertise to inform Agency guidance and policy
Providing high quality written and telephone advice and record keeping, including competency with IT systems.

About you:

The successful candidates will hold qualifications (Degree, Advanced or other Diploma) in any of the below specialties –
Occupational Therapy
Prosthetics and Orthotics
Psychology
Registered Nursing (must be eligible for AHPRA registration),
Social Work
Mental Health Practitioners
Specialists Behavioural Support Practitioners
Medico Legal Allied Health

In addition, candidates must be able to demonstrate:

  • Strong  research and writing skills
  • The ability to analyse and synthesise detailed information within tight time frames.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
  • Adaptable communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in building relationships both with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work within the team and adapt quickly to a changing environment
