The Role


The ICT Strategic Procurement Adviser will provide specialist advice and manage the procurement and contract management of IT infrastructure, on premise software, software as service and professional services.  
Working closely with the Agency’s ICT Leaders and external service providers to deliver complex ICT solutions to business areas, the ICT Strategic Procurement Adviser will also be required to undertake analysis, preparation, and presentation of complex and technical documents from a range of contract and technical data sources.

Key responsibilities will include:
 
  • Establish and manage several ICT Contracts simultaneously to ensure contract agreements align with Agency’s strategic objectives.
  • Manage existing IT vendors in terms of performance to contract and the provision of services/products, addressing any non-performance or non-compliance.
  • Identify and maintain vendor performance metrics on technical, process and business outcomes. Provide advice on Government coordinated arrangements for ICT procurement.
  • Preparing all documentation in the procurement and contract lifecycle and keeping accurate records for a clear audit trail.
  • Lead complex contractual negotiations on behalf of ICT with key business stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential ICT vendors and keeping abreast of industry trends and developments.
  • Prepare and manage contracts and agreements with ICT vendors, including the monitoring of performance, delivery, and payment schedules.
  • Provide high level support, advice and reports on procurement and contract management activities and identify ways to improve the delivery of contract management and procurement for ICT services.
To be successful you will need:
  • Certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting and/or equivalent experience of 5 years or more in ICT procurement.
  • Knowledge and experience in the management of performance-based ICT service contracts within a large organisation.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with various stakeholders, such as suppliers, customers, senior management, and other departments.
  • Ability to analyse data, market trends, supplier performance, and customer feedback to make informed decisions
