DFP Recruitment is urgently seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join a large Federal Government Department.

This role is critical to each project as it actively manages key stakeholder relationships and will be required to identify and address stakeholders’ expectations and concerns. You will be working on the following projects or initiatives: Telephony Management solution, Regulatory Management System enhancements, and Information Management Uplift project.

The key Responsibilities:
  • Be accountable for investigating business needs, problems, and opportunities to support and recommend effective business and ICT changes.
  • Work on several projects or initiatives simultaneously.
  • Gather business requirements to understand and map current business processes to identify potential opportunities for system improvement.
  • Convert business requirements into functional designs and technical specifications including planning, scoping and testing.
  • Plan and facilitate user-centric design sprints/workshops.
  • Work with the business, external stakeholders and technology team members in delivering design recommendations and specifications, which may include site maps, flow diagrams, wireframes, mock-ups (high and low fidelity), personas, prototypes, and style guides.
  • Investigate business needs, problems and opportunities and recommend effective business processes.
  • Prepare or contribute to business cases which describe potential benefits and options for achieving these benefits through development of new or changed processes.
  • Build and sustain relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer across relevant teams including engaging with multiple stakeholders and users from across the organisation.
  • Documenting all stages of projects to provide a clear audit trail.
Skills: -
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
  • Experience in the delivery of products in a cloud environment.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal communication, workshop facilitation and writing skills.
  • Proven experience in requirement gathering and development of acceptance criteria and functional specifications with the ability to apply knowledge of business systems and translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in the continuous improvement of business processes and procedures.
  • Ability to manage complex tasks and anticipate/escalate risks and issues.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and experience of 5+ years in the Business Analysis space, and in documenting requirements and business cases.
  • Demonstrated experience in decision facilitation skills (defining decisions when stakeholders have conflicting views)
