Job description

Our client, one of Australia’s largest and fast growing superannuation companies is looking for Claims Managers for their Insurance teams.

As a Claims Manager, you will provide professional claims management services to members relating to a variety of different insurance claims.
You will be supported by an extensive in-house training and development program where you will gain knowledge in claims management, as well as the development of innovative claims strategies.
 
You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
 
  • Managing a caseload of life, disability insurance and income protection claims
  • Implementing proactive claims management strategies to assist the member in returning to work
  • Assessment of claims for the benefit entitlement
  • Conducting telephone interviews to obtain information to ensure complete understanding of the illness/injury
  • Developing and maintain outcome focused case management plans to assist members return to work
  • Creating collaborate action plans and providing verbal and written decisions whilst maintaining confidentiality and privacy
  • Complete and validate claims accurately ensuring they are in accordance with the claims strategy
 
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
 
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with all stakeholders in a professional and respectful manner
  • The ability to work collaboratively with members, employers, health care professionals and other key stakeholders to obtain information and to provide claim updates
  • High level or organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work items to meet service expectations and guidelines
  • Good initiative and the ability to contribute by identifying opportunities to improve processes and positively impact service delivery and operational efficiencies
 
Successful candidates may be required to undergo a national criminal history check.
