Join the team at a Federal Government agency that works to deliver nationally consistent, responsive and effective regulation of service providers associated with Disability. These Penrith and Parramatta based opportunities are initially 6 months (potential for 12 month extension option), with an estimated end of Feb start date. This will be a fast moving process with a lot of positions available at an APS5 level and APS6 level depending on your experience, therefore please get your applications in quickly if you think you are suitable and meet the criteria. 

Job Specifics:
  • Penrith and Parramatta location
  • APS5 & APS6 Level available depending on experience 
  • $52 - $65per hour plus super (Negotiable for the right candidate) 
  • 37.5 Hour per week, Monday to Friday, typically 9am to 5pm - some flexibility may be offered. 
  • Hybrid WFH:  50/50 Fortnightly – 3 days in the office one week, 2 days the next
  • 6 Month initial opportunity with 12 month extension option

The Role
The Compliance Investiations Officers will be part of a dedicated team that conducts compliance monitoring and investigative activities, designed to disrupt, prevent and mitigate fraud, through execution of operational activities, as well as compliance and enforcement actions . Duties will include but not be limited to;
  • Exercise investigation and monitoring powers and undertake other evidence-gathering activities to inform the development of briefings recommending a range of administrative and court-based outcomes 
  • Liaise with other government agencies and Taskforce partners, share information, produce briefing papers including recommendations to address quality and safeguarding risks arising from fraud and misuse of funds 
  • Implement and monitor the impact of regulatory action, including large-scale disruption activities
  • Engage across the full range of the entities functions, identifying and fostering opportunities to deploy cross-functional strategies to address compliance issues
  • Engage in capability building activities, designed to build understanding and application of fraud prevention strategies, including through education
  • Contribute to the planning and monitoring of work processes for a small team 
APS6 Specific:
  • Lead compliance approaches and investigations inquiries/matters into disability service providers, disability support workers and their response to issues of safety, well-being and quality of support services for people with a disability
  • Conduct interviews, prepare statements and affidavits, collect, secure and manage evidential material and confidential information 
  • Work collaboratively with Legal Officers and other advisers in the development of compliance and investigative responses and briefs of evidence 
  • Oversee compliance and investigations processes that encourage and maintain standards of independence and professionalism 
About You
Our ideal candidate will have a positive contemporary attitude to people with disability, ideal candidates will have experience in a similar role, or the ability to demonstrate that they possess:
  • A strong compliance, analytical focus and solid customer service experience
  • Sound experience in a similar role, preparing complex and/or sensitive correspondence and corporate documentation, including reports, briefings and submissions to support compliance action
  • Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work within a team environment where expertise can be developed and appropriately shared
APS6 Specific:

Applicants must:
  • Hold Australian citizenship at time of application.
  • Be willing to undergo an Australian Federal Police check.
  • Be willing and eligible to obtain a security clearance to the level applicable to the position.
Any gaps or periods of time spent overseas for 12 or more months (cumulative) that cannot be verified by an Australian referee is deemed uncheckable, rendering the applicant ineligible for a security clearance.
