Our client is a leader in Australian software. Experiencing tremendous growth currently, they are seeking a Lead Developer to lead one of their product development teams.  

About the Company:
Our client is a leading digital platform in the financial services sector with a focus on funds management and credit analysis and recognized as an award winning fintech. As one of Australia’s prominent non bank service providers, our client is looking for a leader to grow one of their product development teams.

About the Role:
Your goal will be to work with development teams to design, develop and maintain software.

As a Development Team Lead:

  • Your primary responsibility is to the people of your team. Your efforts will be focused on ensuring that they're evolving as better developers, are finding success in delivering artifacts and generally enjoying the time they spend working.
  • Represent the development team in leadership meetings to plan roadmaps, ensure consistency and clarity of expectations and introduce ideas.
  • Design and develop software, taking responsibility for architecture and long running projects.
  • Be able to familiarize yourself with the existing code base, identify the potential improvements and setup good practices.
  • Support and mentor a development team, which includes local and remotely based team members.
  • Share responsibility for managing production systems and troubleshooting issues.
 
About You:
Coming from a leadership background you will have experience building and leading a team of happy and high-performing software developers. Additionally you would have the following skills and experience:
  • 10+ years of experience with Microsoft .NET, including C#, MVC, Razor, IoC frameworks, Java Script, LINQ to SQL and Entity Framework.
  • 5+ years of hands-on technical leadership roles, leading a team of 15-20 developers.
  • Understand and practice secure coding practices.
  • Demonstrable experience with the AWS stack, including S3, EC2, RDS, Cloud Formation etc.
  • Capable of developing architecture roadmaps, and a solid understanding of microservice architecture with hands on experience of delivering B2B API oriented services.
  • Basic DevOps experience; comfortable with operating and extending continuous delivery capabilities based on Cloud Formation, Code Build, Jenkins etc.
  • Excellent documentation skills and be able to guide the team to build a strong knowledge base.
  • Attention to detail.
Additionally if you have had experience in the following skills, then this is the job for you!
  • Deep understanding of SQL, Data Modelling, database technologies 
  • Experience with Atlassian product suite (principally Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket)
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Selenium and Specflow
  • Experience with Fintech Industry
  • Experience with Financial or Banking Systems
  • Block chain
