Job description

DFP Recruitment is partnering with a Federal Government organisation who are at the inception stage of a very large transformation. Due to this continued growth, they are now looking to bring onboard a Release Manager.
This is an initial 1-year contract offering an open daily rate across a 7.5-hour day + Superannuation based on your previous and current experience. This position can be based in either Richmond or Geelong and is a hybrid role.

The role and responsibilities will include:
• Establish and maintain the Release Management processes in consultation with relevant Office of the CIO (OCIO) and Business stakeholders including third party suppliers.
• Execute the Release Management processes inclusive of scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across the OCIO for multiple applications across various portfolios, i.e. Salesforce, MuleSoft, EDW, SAP, APIC, Environments, Data. Releases may be inclusive of Projects and Programs, application changes, operating system patches, security improvements, and hardware upgrades.
• Coordinate recurring review and refinement of release content based on the prioritised business and non-functional backlogs, service requests, third party applications, or operating system/environment updates.
• Develop and maintain the Release schedule, balancing technical dependencies and business requirements, compliance and other priorities.
• Drive regular OCIO release management forums using OCIO’s work management tool set as the primary point of reference.
• Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews.
• Co-ordinate the production of Release, Deployment, Run Books and Implementation Plans.
• Liaise with delivery partner(s) for system implementation.
• Work with release engineers to understand impacts of branches and code merges.
• Produce regular Release Reporting and represent the Release program and status in OCIO ICT Change Management activities and release planning.
• Ensure all OCIO ICT Change Processes are followed including Cyber assessments, Penetration testing, Go/No-Go gates.
• Actively manage delivery of the organisations Business System Release schedule using OCIO’s standard Project Management tool, including management of plans, risks, issues, and key decisions.
• Co-ordinate the production of weekly OCIO Release Status Reports and review with the Director, Integration Systems Delivery and other relevant functions.
• Maintain a positive collaborative team environment including business and delivery partner(s).
• Provide ICT delivery leadership to the team, including on conformance to Release and Change process, delivery methods and Project Management tool usage.
• Be a champion for continuous improvement, leveraging deep experience in ICT Release Management.

To be considered for this position, our client is looking for:
• Proven experience of at least 3–5 years in establishing and managing Release Management processes in an enterprise business system context.
• Enterprise-level experience in managing Releases and delivering systems based on contemporary platforms and architectures (e.g. MuleSoft and Salesforce) including high level of integration to internal and external systems.
• Proven experience in, and strong knowledge of, contemporary project management, software development/configuration, testing, system delivery, governance frameworks and methodologies.
