About the Organisation
Our Federal Government client is looking to engage a Finance Officer - Level 5 for a 12-month non-ongoing contract. The Corporate Services Branch provides a high standard of support and guidance to agency on general day-to-day requirements which includes the Administration, Finance, Records Management, Risk and Governance, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Building Operations functions which support the operation of the agency.
 
About the role
Finance Officers will be a part of the Finance Team. As a Finance Officers you shall have accounts payable experience with a high level of interpersonal, stakeholder engagement and communication skills. You will be responsible for undertaking a range of support services and processing functions.
The duties and responsibilities for this role include:
  • Mange the accounts payable processing, expense claim payments, credit card payments and manage the payment of suppliers.
  • Manage the Corporate Credit Card function, applications, queries, and acquittal process.
  • Compile expense accruals for monthly reporting.
  • Manage bank reconciliations, oversee payroll function ensuring payroll variations are processed accurately.
  • Be the first point of contact for internal staff and external customer payment enquires including audit queries.
Skills and Experience
Applicants must be an Australian citizen to be eligible for this position. Having Security clearance will be a value add.
  • Has excellent communication, interpersonal skills and has an aptitude for collaboration and negotiation with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Has a high attention to detail and a focus on delivery in a fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic accrual accounting principles, including considerable experience in the accounts payable function and completion of bank reconciliations.
  • Has sound judgement, problem-solving skills, proactive approach and take personal responsibility for timely completion work.
  • Previous accounts payable experience working in a Commonwealth Government agency will be desirable.
