Job description

DFP Recruitment Perth is seeking a Human Resource Consultant working with our State Government client located in the Perth CBD.
This is a casual 3 Month (Possible extension) opportunity, working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

General Responsibilities
HR Consultancy
  • Provides consultancy, support and guidance to managers and staff on a wide variety of HR matters including recruitment, workforce planning and management, change management, performance, redeployment & redundancy, conflict resolution, grievances, discipline and substandard performance.
  • Coordinates the redeployment and redundancy process to meet legislative, policy and procedural requirements, and reduce the number of redeployees through active case management.
  • Undertakes complex award interpretation across the range of industrial awards and agreements and provides Employee/Industrial Relations advice to managers and staff in relation to these.
  • Policy development, implementation and evaluation.
  • Prepares briefing notes and responses regarding Public Sector Standards and Industrial Relations matters.
  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Undertakes position related classification reviews, as and when required.
 
HR Projects and Workforce Data Analysis
  • Coordinates human resources and organisational development projects and initiatives, in accordance with the Departments Workforce and Diversity Plan.
  • Assists with the preparation and analysis of workforce management data.
  • Undertakes human resources related investigations or reviews as required.
Knowledge Management
  • Participates in workgroups, committees, and other forums where a human resource impact is anticipated to ensure knowledge is imparted on contemporary workforce management practices.
  • Maintains knowledge of current human resource trends, issues and practices as it pertains to employee and industrial relations matters.
 Essential Selection Criteria:
  1. Considerable experience as a human resource business partner, providing a consultancy service on a broad range of human resources and workforce management functions.
  2. Demonstrated experience in the interpretation of policies, legislation, awards and agreements and provision of high-level advice to management and staff.
  3. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence or negotiate with a range of stakeholders.
  4. Demonstrated ability to research, analyse and interpret information to apply innovative thinking and or problem-solve.
