Job description

We have several positions available for Registered Nurses for a private clinic/hospital located in Deakin ACT, these are permanent positions.
 
Full time or part time is available, Monday to Friday shifts only, hours vary from 7am to 6pm, 5 weeks annual leave, uniforms provided, staff parking and rates negotiable depending on years of experience.
 
Position Purpose:
 
To provide excellent care to all patients working within the current Nursing Standards and within your scope of practice. At all times, representing the Clinic professionally and efficiently.  Working in a respectful and collegiate manner with all colleagues, demonstrating enthusiasm and a positive approach to patients and colleagues alike.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Liaison with staff across the Clinic, patients and other external bodies, to effect efficient communication, including prompt response to telephone calls and dissemination of information
  • Resource management to ensure adequate supplies to support general nursing
  • Accurate recording of patient notes and all patient engagement in CAPStone
  • Timely and prompt patient follow up, recording all engagement in CAPStone
  • Adherence to administration protocols and processes to ensure all patient paperwork is accurately uploaded and reflected in CAPStone and documentation is completed appropriately
  • Set -ups and end of day pack-down
  • Assisting with the accreditation processes and quality assurance protocols and policies  
  • Take ownership of and accountable for the duties of a Sole Vita nurse, working within the boundaries of the current national Quality Standards.
  • Liaison with and support to the Directors of Nursing (Nursing & Hospital Manager & Patient Manager)
  • Check-in + discharge patients
  • Timely and meticulous preparation of procedure rooms
  • Timely and meticulous preparation of surgical equipment, instruments and disposables for each procedure
  • Care for the patient during the procedure in a confident and professional manner
  • Adherence to instructions and guidance given by Dr Taylor and other contracting doctors regarding procedure technique and requirements
  • Assist The Doctor and other contracting doctors as required throughout the procedure, following their specific instruction and in alignment with the Clinic’s policies and procedures.
  • Provide surgical scrubbing and scouting duties for the private hospital (for both local and general anaesthetic procedures)
  • Provide support to the Doctors in Skin Cancer Clinic
  • Fulfil the duties involved in recovery nursing in the private hospital
  • Manage patient pathology specimen and ensure it is correctly labelled and sent to pathology
  • Sterilise instruments (CSD) adhering to stated techniques in compliance with the National Standards
  • Educate and provide relevant information pre-post operatively to patients
  • Respond promptly to external medical enquiries (patient enquiries, advice and wound management)
  • Assist in maintenance of a strict record of the Doctors and contractors’ equipment and its location
  • Maintain adequate stock levels of all disposables, sutures, dressing in each clinic etc
  • Ensure Injectables are ordered, prepared and stored appropriately
  • Perform Injectable treatments within the boundaries of training provided
  • Supporting Injectable clients with education, follow-up and timely reviews
  • Ensure all procedures and processes are performed in compliance with the National Safety & Quality in Health Care Standards (NSQHS) and the Infection Control and Occupational Health & Safety Practices
  • Willingness to support the day-to-day needs of the clinic, including cleaning, bin runs and stores as required
